The time that I can’t forget

I feel so sad in these days. I have only one day that I can stay in here. Time was too short. At first, I thought 5 weeks were too long. I hoped that time would go fast. At that time, I felt time was too slow and a little bit boring. However, I realize that 5 weeks were too short to do everything. There are many things to see, to learn, and to feel. I even couldn’t go every buildings in school. I didn’t go every delicious restaurants. I couldn’t go every famous stores in uptown. I really love this beautiful school. Whenever I walked through this fantastic scenary, I can forget every complicated problems I have had in Korea. In here, I can spend most comfortable time since I was born. I won’t be able to this happy time in 2009 summer. I felt great lack of something. Still, I don’t wanna leave here.

We had many events while we have experienced. We had great difficulty in Detroit. We met good professors and good TA cooper. We got good classes that we can’t have in PNU. We spent many excursions days and picnics. I could meet nice foreigners in there. I can’t forget Kings Island, Riding a horse, and Carmen. There are so many things I can’t forget forever. I can’t think of them now, because there were so pleasant things I have had in here. Most of all, I love my friends in here. We spent hard time together. We cooked Korean foods in the basement, helping each other. We always franked to each other. They were all open hearted people to each other. Although we have met for just one month, I felt very comfort when I were with them. I will never forget you, my friends! I hope that we can meet in Korea. I feel actually now when I am writing this final blog. I will really miss the time that I can’t forget. I’m already miss this beautiful university, sky, grass, professors, foreign friends, American foods, uptowns, and my friends. It was the happiest summer. I’ll miss 2009 summer.

Fire!

What a suprise incident! It was the morning in today. While I was sleeping, I heard that loud sirren sound. It was so loud, so I woke up immediately. Actually, it was the first time to listen fire sirren since I was born. Frankly speaking, I guessed it was a big alarm. I thought that it was released to wake up everyone because today was the excursion day. Then, I heared English sound ‘fire’. I couldn’t understand everyword but I absolutely understood the word ‘fire.’ I was so embarrased because I imagined some chinese put the button in a wrong way. However, as soon later, I realized that there was real fire in the MacCracken hall. What the hell! I ran out of the dorm. There were already so many people outside the hall. They were also surprised too. We asked each other what happend in the dorm, but no one didn’t know there was real fire.

As some time passed, an American woman came out of the hall with a black muffin. Oh my god! It was just a muffine that caused fire. I listend that the basement was filled with smoke. One fireworker said that some chinese put the muffine in the microwave even for over 20minutes! When I listend that words, I was very angry about Chinese. How they could forget the fact that they put something in the microwave? What were they doing when the strange smell spreaded out? In addition, they laguhed a lot and even took a picture of the dorm that filled with smoke. I was so embarrased their attitudes. Anyway, the fire accident was extinguished safely. However, the smoke has remained in the aisle. Although, there was a little fire, I learned that we have to be careful when we use some heat-related products. I hope that it will not happen never again. Never!

The best excursion day!

This Wednesday is the best excursion that I have had in this Mimai University! In the morning, we went to Bobevance to eat breakfast. It is the second time to eat breakfast in rastaurant in America. Frankly speaking, I was very excited because we went there instead of the class! Anyway we arrived in the restaurant. The menu seems very delicious. We ordered five different dishes to share each other. They were so delicious! They were best foods I have ever eaten in America. After I finished my breakfast, I realized that I get used to eating American foods. At first day in American, I felt American foods was so greasy and salty. However, I like American foods very much. I can eat evern three meals in American style kk! The most delicious food was pancake. It was so soft. I love that. I wanna eat once more.

After breakfast, we went to class. Actually, I had looked forward to riding a horse! I never have rode a horse before. It was the first time to ride a horse. I was very surprised. Why? Horses were handsome. Suddenly, we heard the sound of thunderstorm. I was little bit worried about that I wouldn’t ride a horse. However, I could ride a horse. It was harder than I had thought. The horse didn’t listen to me. It always caught up with another horses. Anyway, I became to love riding horses! Time was too short to me. I wanted to enough time. Although the time was too short, I enjoyed riding enough. I thought today is the best excursion day! I wanted to ride a horse all day long someday. I learned the new fact that there are three ways of riding. We learned western ways today. Finally, we went to Wall Mart. In there, I bought many presents for my people. I felt a lack of something because the time was short in this time too. I hope that they will be happy when I give them to her.

Oh, nap!

Since I have come to Miami university, I usually have gotten a nap after lunch. In these days, I even sleep for 3hours during the afternoon. I feel little lethargic whenever I take a long nap. I feel some tired because our schedule is little bit hard. I really want to not to take a nap, but I couldn’t help it. Oh my godness! Today, I missed a writing center, because I felt a deep nap.

In Korea, I didn’t get a nap. I worry about if this will be my habit or not. I decided that I will not take a nap from now on. I will go to bed early(However, it is hard thing to me, because I usually active in night). Hmmm, anyway, I will see, feel, learn many things from now on. I feel a great lack of something, because this program are going to end within one week. I’ll make meaningful days. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Every Thursday, there is a music festival in uptown. I and my friends usually go there(Actually, we have much free time kk). About last week, we met a Korean student, not Pusan student! I was very surprised because I have seen few Koreans in this Miamy University. I was really glad to meet him. He was 3 years older than me and a student in Yeonsae university. He is going to another university to get a master’s degree. Anyway, he was Elite!

We met him and went to the restaurant. I can’t remember exactly the name of the store:( However, it was very delicious. I ate some sandwiches and potatoes. It was so big! Actually, I like American sandwich because it is different from that of Korea. Korean sandwiches are usually small and contains vegetables and eggs. I usually share American one because it is too much for one person to eat. Anyway, I like eating! I wanna eat many delicious foods in here

My first university class

When I looked back on Korea, I reflected my first university class. It was the basic English conversation class. I was very very embarrassed because I couldn’t say anything. The professor wasn’t American! She was from New Zealand. So even I have studied English for over 10 years, I couldn’t understand her pronunciations. I was just frustrated because there are many freinds who are good at speaking.

I just had practiced English for test, especially for university entrance exam. So I had been only good at listening and reading. Speaking had been a painful thing to me. I had never done speaking before entering the university. After all, I just practiced speaking, trying just saying anything in English without thinking grammar. I improved a lot compared with then, but I have to practice a lot. I really wanna good at speaking. In these days, frankly speaking, I wanna learn British English. I think it is so sexy and unique. Anyhow, I’ll do my best to English!

You’re Fired!

When I first saw the name of this pottery studio, I laughed a lot. However, when I went into the store, I was very admired because it was so cute! There were lots of potteries in the store and most of them were really pretty. I wanted to make many potteries but I had to choose one. I chose two small glasses for drinking Korean alchol So-ju. One is for me and the other is for my boy friend. Because we like drinking alchol and often go to the pub(However, we aren’ alchoholic!).

I painted pink for one and sky for the 0ther. I first decorated the sky because it will be for me. Frankly speaking, I was little frustrated at first because I failed the sky one. The color of paint was little awkward and the alphabet was ugly. So it became mine. Anyway, I finished the pink one very successfully! I really satisfied with that. I hope that it will be baked successfully too. I can’t wait for that to be released. I want my boyfriend to be moved a lot. Of course he should be kkk. I’m looking forward to us to drink by these cute cups kkk!

We were supposed to go to the opera on Monday. I was little excited because it was the first time to go to the opera. At fist, we went to prof. David’s house. I was surprised because the case that students go to professors’ house is very rare in Korea. Anyway, it was very antique! It was 3 stories house that have very wide yard. I was really envied his house. Most of all, I thought that I want to have a room like his daughter’s room. We ate India food at his house. Curry was the best food. It was some different from ours, but it was very delicious too

Finally, we went to Music hall to see the opera. It was very great but I felt little annoyed. Why? I couldn’t see any subtitles because of my bad see sight! Oh my. I fell a sleep as soon. I laguhed when Americans laguhed kkk. It was too long. After the opera is finished, I could understand whole story thanks to my friend Mi-jin. I wanna see that opera again to understand by myself. However, it was very meaningful time to me. When I go back to Korea, I will see that opera again absolutely.

My bad habit!

When I was in Korea, I always delayed and postponed my works that I have to do. For example, when professors gave me a week to do reports, I spent 6 days meaninglessly and did it just before deadline. Whenever I did it, I decided that I would not do it again. However, it didn’t work. So I was very frustrated again and again. I always think that I will have to be a loyalty person. When I applied this summer program, I decided that again of course!

However, I didn’t do my plan since I have been here. I didn’t do much reading. When professors gave me homeworks, I delayed untill deadline. I always have done a cramming. Habits are hard to correct. So I am writing blog this late time oh my…! Where is my first will. Next week, I will do my work everyday absolutely. I hope that I will not be lazy person like present. Cheers:)

It was a terrible day I have had in Miami University. Every Saturday is an excursion day. We went to a Newport mall at first. It was in Cincinnatti. There aren’t any stores where we have wanted. We just went around here and there. Then, we went to a Korean restaurant. The only pleasure that I have had today was that! After I came to the United States, I always have wanted to eat Korean foods. I really have missed Korean foods. It was so delicious:D I enjoyed Pajeon a lot. One of the things that I felt something lack was a way to serve the foods. Although the foods is Korean, the way to serve those was American ways. Anyway, I thought that Korean foods are best around the world!

Finally, we went to stadium to watch a baseball game. Frankly speaking, I hadn’t wanted that. However, there isn’t no choice. The stadium was very very big I have ever watched. There are so many people. There are many differences between Amercian and Korean in supporting ways. As you know, Korean people support their team very frantic and enthusastically. American people can’t imagine their passion in game ground. I felt little boring. By the way, the most terrible thing was rain! We had no umbrella so I got wet with heavy rain long time. I am very cold now…
